This spring I had the privilege of photographing Laura and Brian’s wedding at Madrona Manor in Healdsburg. I met Laura at our pottery class almost two years ago and I just love Laura and Brian’s humor and overall attitude. These guys were a blast on their wedding day. They didn’t want to deal with not seeing each other the morning of their wedding, formal dances, or a full wedding party. Laura chose to not carry a bouquet and opted for a floral comb instead and Brian chose to skip a boutonnière altogether (though he did insist on wearing a tux!). When friends or clients ask my opinion about whether they should adhere to a specific tradition, I usually say don’t worry about it unless it truly matters to you. Gone are the days of doing something at your wedding because you’re supposed to do it. Be a gracious host, but after all…it’s YOUR party! Head on over Style Me Pretty to read more about their wedding and see their feature. Shout out to all the awesome vendors who helped make this unconventional wedding so fabulous!
