Happy 75th Anniversary Golden Gate Bridge!

This past Sunday we celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge! Even though my husband and I always talk about how much more impressive the Bay Bridge is, the Golden Gate is still the one that makes us feel all giddy with excitement. Maybe it’s the color (International Orange in case you were wondering), or the history behind it, or the fact that it takes you to Napa and Sonoma (our favorite weekend trip)…whatever it is, in the very least this bridge showcases amazing engineering and is a reminder that hard work and perseverance pay off. If you have Netflix (which I’m sure most of you do), there is a great Modern Marvels documentary about the bridge you should watch. If you live here, you will have an overwhelming urge to drive over it as soon as possible.

If you couldn’t make it into the city to see the fireworks display the city put on…I’m so sorry! It was pretty fabulous and we had great seats on the Baker Beach dunes. We live a five minute walk away, so while all those other suckers were trying to find a parking spot in the normally quiet Seacliff or battling the crowds at Crissy Field, the hubby and I took a stroll down to the beach around 9pm and set up the camera. Thankfully, the city’s trademark fog stayed away for the night! Here are some shots from before, during, and after the fireworks…
